I'm actually going to write up the Disney flim I have a cousin who ex boyfriend was in a Disney flim. 

So what I was thinking it could be that the hero has the tough average life, she was adopted since she was lost when she was younger. And the royal family adopted a daughter (which could be you as a villain) and promise of the crown but when they found out about the hero she grows jealous and could find way to get powers to try prevent the hero.
